The Dainere’s Rainbow Run commenced in 2014 and each year the wonderful Year 12 Students dedicate their time to plan and run this very special event. We wish to express our deepest and heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved for continuing Dainere’s Legacy and helping to create change for all children diagnosed with paediatric brain tumours in such a unique and beautiful way.
Dainere’s Rainbow Run was a 100m fun run completed by year 12 students at the Burgmann Anglican School athletics carnival. Students from years 9, 10 and 11 lined up beside the track and threw coloured Holi powder on the year 12 participants as they ran past.
This run embodies Dainere’s passion for athletics and her favourite quote, “you have to go through a storm to get to a rainbow.” It was an extremely moving and inspirational run to watch. When the colours embellished the students and the air around them the strong sense of Burgmann community and the kind morality of the students was evident.
The run intends to raise funds for the Dainere’s rainbow foundation through the students purchasing the holi powder and t-shirts for the run, but more than this it strives to continue Dainere’s legacy into the future. This run is a truly inspiring event which we hope will continue into the future for many years to come.
